Please read this carefully. It explains what Dia is, what it is not, and how to use it safely.
Dia is for wellness and education only
Dia is a wellness and educational tool designed to help adults living with Type 1 diabetes understand the context behind their glucose state — such as how sleep, heat, altitude, food, and exercise may relate to it — in plain English. It is intended for general informational and educational purposes only.
Dia is not a medical device
Dia is not a medical device and has not been reviewed, cleared, or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulatory authority. Dia does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, manage, or monitor diabetes or any other disease, condition, or health problem.
Not a substitute for your devices or your care team
Dia is not a substitute for a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), a blood glucose meter, or the professional judgment of your physician, certified diabetes care and education specialist, or other qualified healthcare provider. Dia does not display glucose readings and should never be relied upon to know your glucose level.
- Always use your own CGM, glucose meter, and other medical devices to check your glucose and make health-related decisions.
- Always confirm anything you read in Dia against your own devices and your care team's guidance.
Never make treatment decisions based on Dia
Do not use Dia to make decisions about insulin dosing, medication, food, exercise, or any other aspect of your treatment or care. Dia does not provide medical advice, dosing guidance, or treatment recommendations, and nothing in the app should be interpreted as such. Decisions about your insulin, food, and care should always be made by you together with your healthcare provider.
In an emergency
Dia is not designed to detect, alert, or respond to medical emergencies. If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency — including severe hypoglycemia (very low blood sugar) or hyperglycemia (very high blood sugar) — act on your own devices and training and contact your local emergency services immediately. If you have concerns about your health, consult your care team.
Individual results and information may vary
The explanations Dia provides are general educational context based on common factors that can influence glucose. They may not apply to your individual situation and are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or current. Your body, circumstances, and condition are unique to you.
Adults 18 and older
Dia is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. It is not intended for use by children or by anyone for whom it is not appropriate.
By using Dia, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclaimer. If you have any questions, contact us at [contact email].
